My Amazing Daughter

Why, you might ask, is my daughter so amazing?  Doesn't every 2 year old girl adore playing with a Little People house and princess castle?  In short...no.  At least Georgia never did.  Actually, my two oldest have only fairly recently become interested in imaginative Little People/Imaginext toys at all.  Ezra always preferred building things and destroyed most other toys and Georgia pretty much just danced around in a princess dress and destroyed most other toys.  So, you'll have to excuse my ridiculously over-the-top amazement at my daughter and her ability to actually play with toys like they're supposed to be played with.  Even more astounding is that she plays like this all the time and pretty much has since she was a baby.  If it's not Little People, then it's with the play kitchen...and, guess what?  She actually pretends to cook in said play kitchen.  Don't even get me started on her ability to mother dolls.

Amazing, I know.

I'm impressed with her too. I'm not surprised by her mothering though. She's always the first to pet, I mean acknowledge my daughter.

Hooray, hooray!! I am so glad that you have a child that actually plays with the imagination toys instead of using them as hand grenades. *contented sigh* She does a heart good. :)

So nice! My 2 kids do not play with their toys either!! I have often thought about getting rid of them, but like a grandma, I keep them when other (normal toy playing)kids come to play. This gives me hope that my 3rd will be a toy player too. I bet her toy playing is especially nice with new baby Oak around.

I understand the "destroying" part. We often have a broken toy and Brennley will ask, "Who broke this" or "How did this page get torn?" Haha! She did this even before Mckay was born. It is nice to know she is not the only destroyer out there. Yeah for Scarlett!

Oh my gosh Whitney, I'm dying right now. I can SO relate! My oldest is like your older two, and my second is like your 3rd. When people talk to me about having "active" kids or whatever, I want to say You have no idea what you're saying! I've had more than one person say they thought they had active kids, until they saw mine. Ha ha! I've gotten used to it now, but it was pretty rough for a while. My calm toddler Bennett has helped a lot with my sanity, and I'm glad you've got your little Scarlet too!

Oh, I'm so grateful that my kids aren't the only destructive ones. I was seriously becoming concerned... Miss Scarlett is so cute.

Both types of children are great. You must remember that imagination is building their little brains into smart ones. it doesn't matter if they imagine building things then imagine whatever it is that destroys what they built, or if they imagine the little people doing things, it's the brainwork behind it that's important. A less active child, would concern me. Hooray for all of these little active minds, they are growing up to solve tomorrows, problems, write tomorrows novels, teach tomorrows lessons in imaginative ways.
Hooray for the little Ephraimites that they are!
