...this October came around and I found myself in our first home with a big ol' oak tree in the front yard and I couldn't even wait to get started. I used a couple of wood posts from the hardware store, some plastic bags stuffed with paper and some random round tablecloths I had lying around (I know, I know, everyone always claims they have useful/vintage/fabulous stuff "lying around" and you're like, "how the heck do they have that?" but I really DID have 5 big ol' white round tablecloths hangin' around. promise.). All of the pictures I saw of ghost rings online had faces and heads, but I liked mine plain and simple. Not to mention, if I didn't paint faces then I wouldn't have to worry about the placement when I re-use the stuff next year. Anyway, I just adore how it turned out. yay! yay! for a fabulous BIG $5 Halloween decoration! Definitely $5 well spent in my book :)
Isn't is fabulously festive? *happy sigh*
Since I was taking pictures in front of my house, I figured I'd throw a full-shot in there since most of y'all haven't seen it yet :)
Home Sweet Home
(please excuse the random pile of ghost-making supplies on the driveway and the red car that Spence is working on for a friend)
While Spencer and I were busy making our dancing ghosts, Ezra was busy making his very own vampire. How cute is that? It doesn't exactly match the decor, but it's getting left up anyway, 'cause I'm that kind of mom (you know, the kind who doesn't care enough to care ;).
Handyman Ezra and his Masterpiece
Oh, and since we're showing house pictures, here's a couple from last week's tree-chopping. These pictures don't even do it justice. It was a big ol' full-grown tree, I promise!
half-way there...
The hooligans building a fort in the downed branches
What, you don't have random low-riding neighbor boys hanging around your house? poor you.
The End.
ps-are y'all doing anything fun and festive this Halloween season? I'd love to hear :)

Ok, ROFL @ the random low-rider! That just made my night. :D
*LOVE* the ghosts! I would also keep them plain, they are just so darn adorable! I wish I had a big ol' tree to do that with!
a) I love the ghosts! If I have 5 random sheet lying around, I'd totally do something similar in our yard.
b) Love your house! It's like the Kansas, two story version of mine, complete with funky grey paint, bricks and huge trees. If you didn't notice, the association makes me feel like the distance between isn't as great :)
c) I got nothin' up my sleeve for decorating this year. It's sad, but decorating my mom's house burnt me out.
you are hilarious! I love it all! I love the ghost decor, Ezra's vampire, the fort in the fallen branches, and how awesome is your HOUSE!? I wonder how many years we'll have to put in before we get our own house...
the ghost are awesome!!
Seriously made me laugh out loud. Yep, I'm really unlucky in the low-riding teen dept. Why, oh why?!! Now, as far as everything else...fabulous!! The ghost are adorable and I'm so proud of your creative skills and on a $5 budget...look at you!! Give Spence a hug for being a fantastic hubby who helped you with your crafting indulgence. Whadda' guy. Holy moly, great job on that tree!! The house looks great w/o it! Also, who wouldn't want to build a little refuge in the fallen tree's branches?!! Looks like a little kiddo paradise! I love how they look like 'children of the tree' in there. Also, love Ez's vampire! He is such a cute boy. Good job, Mommy for keeping it up. I bet he swells w/ pride every time he sees it sitting there. p.s. he looks so cute in that shirt.
Such a cute idea. Wish I had the tablecloths sitting around to make some :-)
I just updated our blog with all our Fall/Halloween decorating fun too.
I LOVE the ghosts! So cute Whitney!
Wow - I can't believe how many posts I haven't commented on, I could have sworn I commented on this one. Love the ghosts and the neighbor boy. Awesome.
