Ezra's punishment (because you can bet your butt he had one) was having to sit on a chair in time-out still covered in oatmeal for as long as it took me to clean up his mess. Why, you might ask, did I not clean him up and immediately put Ezra to work scrubbing the Quaker goodness off the walls himself? Answer: because my kid is a little on the OCD side and nothing bothers him more than sitting sticky in his own mess. Plus, scrubbing the walls is just barrels o' fun in his book.
To make the day even more exciting, fifteen minutes ago, I found him sitting on the floor in front of the fridge, doing the exact same thing with a tub of margarine. Luckily, this time I caught him before he made it to the walls. His clothes and the carpet weren't so lucky.
I just might kill him before the day is out. Scratch that...duct-taping him to the wall sounds much more appealing, not to mention legal.
This Just In...
While posting about the previous messes, Ezra just poured red juice all down the front of him and all over my carpet. Georgia (the little accomplice) is red up to her elbows. I really, truly don't know if I'm going to make it through the day...then again, I really, truly don't know if he's going to either...

Oh boy! It sounds like you are having one busy day!
Poor you! I remember the days--not so much with Chase, but Cicily was non-stop antics just like these. Good luck with the rest of your day. I hope it gets better!
Holy crap! What a great idea as a punishment! Next time, tell him he'll have to wear mismatching clothes from last (gasp) season ;)
OMGosh, I'd kill him, justifiable homicide!
Good Luck girl! I think I'd be locking myself or him in the bathroom for the rest of the day at this point! Crazy how we seem to still love 'em anyways!
I HAD to read this to Trevor, he loved it! he said "that kid is so much like me when I was younger", and I HAD to say "if these genes pass on to our baby, YOU'RE doing the cleaning!!" :)
thank you for the congrats!! we are so excited! you can bet your butt that I'll be coming here to ask questions and questions about e-ve-ry-thing! :)
hugs hgus :)
I'd cry! I love my carpet too much!
Wow, sounds like Ezra had a busy day! Yeah, I know those days--wondering if either of us will survive before daddy comes home...
I hope you are both surviving... I like the duct tape idea.
Sorry...just know I'm thinking of you...and laughing! Haahaa!
HA HA!! May I STRONGLY suggest an easel, smock and finger paints. Sounds like little Ezra has a creative side he likes to express!
Meanwhile, check the ads for sales on duct tape.
Poor Whitty!! I am so, so sorry. You should've gotten out. of. the. house. and NEVER looked back. That stinky little Ez...and squirlley Miss Georgia?? my goodness, duct tape never looked so good, I am sure.
I do hope you have a good carpet cleaner.
lol and i thought the jumbo bag of animal crackers crushed all over the kitchen floor was bad...i think you one-uped me. i sympathize.
Sounds like aubrey and dallin. although aubrey had a thing of putting stuff in the toilet. dallin just made messes. take pictures whit, your going to need them when ezra calls and talks about his kids. sharon
BTW Evie tagged Ez and Georgia
Whitney, isn't it lovely being a MOM?!?!?! I mean truely, the wonderful things we get to deal with day in and day out. and then when our hubbies come home and are completely unaffected by the stress and frustration because he has not had to deal with it all day just sends one over the edge!!! ANYWAY, I love your writing, you always make me laugh. Hope you are doing well (and that everyone is still alive in your house. if you are out of duct tape, just give me the ALL GO, and I will send some right to you for parental safety of course.)
