You knew it was coming...

Introducing

Scarlett Caroline Lifferth

Born October 28th, 2008
9:31pm
6lb 12oz
19 3/4 in

We welcomed the newest addition to our family on Tuesday night. Ezra and Georgia have both adjusted fairly well and love to give their little sister lots of pats and kisses. I'm doing just fine and have recovered well. I'm no where near adjusted to having three kids, but I assume that's something that comes with time...it does, right? Please tell me it does. Scarlett is just beautiful. She has lots of dark hair and those beautiful trademark Lifferth fingers and nails (look at Spencer's or his sister Heather's hands if you don't know what I'm talking about). I think she looks a lot like Ezra, only girlified and darkened, hence a lot like Spencer...or more accurately, Heather, who looks like a feminine version of Spencer. Scarlett's been a fairly easy baby so far and is a champion nurser. We'll see how long that lasts as she gets older. She just might end up a diva like her older sister. It's hard to believe there's now five of us in our little family, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

I love this picture because it shows all of her dark hair

(gotta love those scrunchy, odd-looking newborn expressions;)

Right before we left the hospital

This was taken yesterday afternoon after most of her swelling has gone down, so it's a pretty accurate idea of what she really looks like

Oh, Whit - she's beautiful!!!! And what an 'easy' birth ;) You deserve it, after Ez and Georgia's. And now you can say that you've tried labor three different ways. I wish we were closer - miss you tons! And that little face of Scarlett's almost makes me want another baby. Almost. :) PS I love her name.

OH, and ummm, Whitney, what in the world do you think you are doing with looking all gorgeous and all at the hospital? don't you know that is a rule, NO GORGEOUS BIRTHING MOMS ALLOWED!!!!

Anyway, congrats on your new addition.
p.s. it does get easier at some point, LOL.

She is sooo precious and you look fabulous, Whitney. Oh, and trust me...if you can crank out a kid drug free...you'll certainly adjust to having three; won't get EASIER per say...but you'll adjust well. Love ya.

Congratulations!!! She is adorable! I think you picked a fantastic name by the way.

I am going to skip the gory details post....and just blissfully imagine that she was brought to you floating on a cloud steered by storks.

So when is kid number 4?

Whitney, she is beautiful!! Congrats on your new daughter!! It sounds like the birth went wonderfully! You look gorgeous in that picture, by the way - that shouldn't be allowed so soon after giving birth, LOL! :-D
Congratulations again!! :)

Congratulations!!! What a beautiful baby and family that you have. I love, love, love the name as Gone with the Wind is my all time favorite book and movie!!! Of course being born and raised in Virginia you can't help but love Southern things.

I love that name btw-we wanted to use it with one of ours sometime but then we didn't think Charlotte and Scarlett would work??

As for adjusting to 3- I still am having a hard time. Good luck! :)
