A jehovah's witness gave me a pamphlet on Life in a Peaceful New World today at the grocery store. This was after Scarlett's weeping and wailing over the lack of juice in our cart and Ezra's throw-down with Georgia over who got to hold the box of cinnamon graham crackers, but before the writhing tantrum about the "ugly napkins" Georgia insisted we not buy.
As for this New World...
obviously my kids are not invited.
ps-I had like three different people offer to help while shopping (unloading my cart, packing my bags, etc). I have to wonder if it's because they were nice people who offered to help the harried mom of four or if I so obviously had lost control. my guess is both.

I'm sure they saw that you were in COMPLETE control and simply were nice people that wanted to be around such a cool and calm person.
Ha.lar.ious. For real. Still after you telling me about over the phone I still think it's terribly funny. I guess it's because 1)I've been there, done that and can completely relate, 2)it's ALWAYS funnier when it isn't your kids and 3)I can clearly picture everything you've told me, and well your kids have a knack of tickling my funny bone. :) As for the "peaceful new world"...well, let's just say it sounds like a nice place, I'm just not sure it's for the likes of our kids. ;)
Love it! Children just exude peaceful feeling where ever they turn... NOT! lol. Been there with three, never four! But don't worry you are not alone!
hey whit, how goes life? as busy as ever for you. just got caught up on your awesome family, which i miss seeing so much btw. i feel your pain about not seeing your kids in that peaceful new world! melt down city and screaming is what we enjoy daily as well. what keeps you sane? b/c i feel like a crazy woman. the help from others sounded great. the moment i returned to france i was quickly reminded how strange people try to discipline your kids and don't help when you look totally frazzled and overwhelmed by the munchkins, they just stare at you and want you to hurry up and get out of the way!
aren't you glad for the gospel? one day we'll want that eternity with our kids (even if we aren't feelin' the love at the moment!) bisous!!!
ha ha. Oh my gosh this pamphlet looks much like the one I got from the Calvary Chapel church at our meet your religious leader night (not something you'd see at BYU:) Mine was entitled "Holy Wedlock or Unholy Deadlock?" Good tidings to offer, for sure. Miss you guys! And tell Georgia that goodness gracious I love her! (and all the rest of ya'll:)
Great post(s) Whitney! I must agree with Steph on the children being welcome in the New World. It would be a very blase place without the little Emphriamites!
I love the shorts, socks and flipflop post!
Speaking of Steph... has your blog burned out?

Love those moments! Love this post. You are so funny!
It's always because they are nice and want to help. I even tell myself sometimes that it is because they've been there and done that and they truly feel pity for me.
