The One You've Been Waiting For

Goodness, it's been a while since I've posted a good ol' fashioned uber-post. While originally I was putting it off and sorta dreading it, I found that I when I sat down at the computer this morning, I was kind of excited to start. I guess that my big ol' blog posts are kind of like reviewing my life, finding some of the best and funniest moments in it, and then (best of all) sharing it with y'all. What's not to love about that? Anyway, without further ado, on with the show...

A while ago, Kansas City's Crown Center had a fairytale land set up that the kids could go and play in (yay! for free entertainment). It was so much fun and the kiddos just ate it up! It was fun with Ezra, especially, because he already knew so many of the stories. Georgia, on the other hand, particularly (and predictably) enjoyed the princess scenes.

We started off the afternoon with a picnic...in our car, that is. Rain'll do that to a picnic, ya know.

Looking in the Evil Queen's Magic Mirror

Ezra meeting one of the Three Little Pigs. If he likes to work as much as Ezra, he's the one that built his house from straw.

Daddy and Scarlett in Red Riding Hood's forest

Georgia and the Goose's golden eggs

The coup de grace? Cinderella's pumpkin carriage

After Fairytale Land, we headed over to meet Sleeping Beauty. Initially, Georgia was the most excited about it. However, after the 1.5 hours spent in this line...not so much.

That's ok, we managed to entertain ourselves fairly well while waiting. Nothing like some Marilyn Monroe-style excitement to keep things interesting.

By the end, the girls were too exhausted to take pictures. For Ezra, on the other hand, it was love at first sight.

For a random 2 day span of time, Georgie carried 3 potatoes around with her. She played with them constantly. Her favorite activity was setting a bunch of animals around them and having them eat the potatoes. It was hilarious.

Cinco de Mayo!
If you can't tell, we're huge fans of dance parties at our house.

A local sighting of a largemouth bass. Oh wait, never mind...that's my daughter.

Princess Georgia is 3!!!

The girl of the hour

Princess Georgia with the gifts from her royal subjects

Her Royal Wardrobe

The Royal Decor
(I discovered you can do a whole lot of things with .50c worth of supplies from a garage sale)

The Royal Cake
(she informed me she wanted a pink and purple princess cake and this was the best I could do)

Georgia still talks about how her "cake had 1, 2, 3 candles and then we put fire on them." She was enamored with the whole thing.

Sometimes I wish we had at least two birthdays a month. Birthdays just make the world a better place.

I was going to post our Oklahoma trip pictures too, but I think you've had enough for one day, so I'm cuttin' ya off. Check back soon for those. Hope you enjoyed the much-anticipated uber-post! Have a fabulous day!

I love finding fun, something-different, free activities to do too. Happy (late) birthday to Georgia. I'm jealous of your girls' hair.

Noooooo! I want more, I want more (think angry mob chant...)!!
Thank you, thank you for the post though! I've been a serial stalker on your blog. So, this update was much anticipated. :) Let'see, some of may favs...your comment on how Ez's house of straw comment (still has me chuckling), you, of course, look like a babe in your candid shot, your children actually looked locked-up in Cinderella's carriage...yet, pleased about it, Ez's "love-at-first-sight" pic (I think the picture says it all), the fact that your daughter kept entertained for actual DAYS with three potatoes (nuts, I say, NUTS!!), the fact that you celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Mardi Gras beads and that you called your daughter a "large mouthed bass", and I luuuved every second of your princess' 3yr. old birthday recap...is there such a word for princess AND diva in one??? Let's see, maybe priva, or divess...I dunno, but let's choose one or another and I think it would describe our Miss G perfectly. Send squishy loves and smoochy kisses all around. I love you all!!

I love your large mouth bass and that you see it too! Most moms wouldn't say such dirty words. Kyra Bowman and I have decided we want to have a Cinco De Mayo Party with you next year. I hope you want extras because we'll just show up if you say no.

you need to frame the picture of Ezra and Cinderella. I love the look on his face. Princess Georgia is beautiful as usual. Love the outfit, by the way. Can I just say such a cute fish Scarlett makes. Such cute kids Whit. Love your post!!

My favorite pictures are of the girls on top of the grate with their dresses flying! I LOVE Crown Center and did not realize that they had a princess Faire. We went when the display was a community. Have to make a trip again!

That Ezra is one handsome guy! Speaking of handsome, is MY guy bugging you? I hate when people invade my space! Sorry it is taking him so long, but I think it will be worth it!
