Tonight, as I was driving home from Girls Camp, all by my lonesome, I kept thinking about the summer before my freshman year of college. A friend and I would find any excuse to drive up to Salt Lake City and back in his old topless land cruiser, just to feel the wind in our faces. So, I rolled the windows down, jacked up some old school rock, enjoyed the first fireflies of the season whizzing by, and sang my heart out.

If you haven't done that for awhile, I highly recommend it.

ps-uber-post coming soon, I promise.

Sounds like a blast! You're reminding me of my college days driving around the mountains of Northern AZ with the top off my Isuzu Amigo, looking at the stars, and singing country songs with my friends. *sigh* I could use a repeat of that right about now... ;D

What if I can't find any fireflies?

Can I just listen to "Fireflies" by Owl City? Does that count?

Mmmmm - fun times. I think I do need to do that sometime when I don't the kids in the car with me. (Not quite the same experience with the kids in the car, if you know what I mean).

I agre with Aub. Half of my kids would be bawling because the windows were down, or too far down, or not enough down and the other half would want them up, no wait, the music's too loud, not loud enough... I loved doing that too. One of my very favorite memories in highs school was driving on Main in Logan (groan...how un-cool...we thought we were sooo cool, though). Michell, Holly and I had the windows are rolled down in Michelle's little red sports car in the summer at night belting out Celine Dion's "Let's Talk About Love" album. Ahhh, good times, good times.

For most of my life serving in the church, I have spent time every summer at CUB CAMPS/WBELOS CAMPS and just last week, 11-year-old camp! Such is the life of the mother of 3 boys! Some day, I hope to push my walker into GIRLS CAMP when Jessie is 12!
